1. Self-care, not treatment
InnerWork journals, prompts, breathing exercises and articles are general educational and wellness resources. They are not medical advice, mental health treatment, psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, crisis intervention or a substitute for working with a licensed professional.
2. No professional relationship
Using this website, downloading a journal, reading an article or joining the email list does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client or other professional care relationship. InnerWork does not review your personal situation or monitor your wellbeing.
3. Your experience is your own
Some people find journaling, grounding or mindful breathing supportive. Others may not, and results vary. We do not promise to cure, treat, prevent or eliminate anxiety or any health condition. Stop an exercise if it feels unsafe or overwhelming, and consider speaking with a qualified professional who can understand your circumstances.
4. When to seek professional support
If distress is persistent, worsening, interfering with daily life or raising concerns about your safety, consider contacting a licensed mental health professional or medical provider. A professional can offer individualized assessment and care that a downloadable journal cannot.
5. External resources
Crisis services are independent organizations. Their availability, policies and service areas may change. Current U.S. information is available from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line.
